Our Fundamental Beliefs

Through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, Cornerstone Baptist Church of Sarasota is dedicated to making Christ known to all and leading believers to spiritual maturity.  Join our congregation by attending our weekly worship services or Bible study sessions.  As a church, we affirm the Baptist Faith and Message of 2000 which can be found here.

We affirm Sola Scriptura.  The Bible is both sufficient and the final authority in the lives of His followers. The Scriptures teach that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ by His work in His life, death, and resurrection. We are committed to the glory of God by being disciples and making disciples we take seriously the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.

We are gladly a part of the Southern Baptist Convention, The Gospel Coalition, 9Marks, and The Southern Baptist Convention of Florida.

Encouraging Other to Live Out Their Faith

Our intention and expectation is for each individual in our congregation to be a disciple of Jesus Christ in both word and deed, because of our love for Him. At Cornerstone Baptist Church of Sarasota, Florida, we believe the members of our church are to have a living faith. Indeed we are saved by faith alone (Romans 5:1), but not by a faith that is alone (James 2:14-26). Review all of our fundamental beliefs today.

Christ said we would be known by our love for one another (John 13:35), and by our obedience (John 14:15; Matthew 24:42-51), so we want to be a loving church. We want to equip Christians for the work of ministry; defending and faithfully living in loving obedience to His Word throughout the world. Our church is a place where people can expect to hear the full counsel  of God and growth in their intimate relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
